A dedicated family man and community activist, he graduated from Baghdad Technical Institute's Mechanical Engineering Department in 1989, later he studied Mechanical Engineering in Nashville in 1999.
His political engagement began with the Kurdistan Toilers' Organization and the Kurdistan Students and Youth Union. In 1992, he became an active member of the Sulaymaniyah branch of the Kurdistan Students and Youth Union, advancing to Head of Media in 1993.
Since relocating to the United States in 1995, he has remained deeply involved in Kurdish-American community organizations. He served as a board member of United Kurdish Voice in Nashville and was instrumental in founding both the Kurdish American Group and the Kurdish American Center.

He served as former editor-in-chief of the bilingual weekly Aso and currently leads the Kurdish-language weekly Rezhaw and Aso of Today as editor-in-chief. As a literary organizer, he founded and heads both the Marivan Literary Association and the Kurdistan Literary Association in Sanandaj.
